Sometimes when you arrive late for a painting session you have to make do with whatever spot is left. This actually turned out to be a good angle to paint from. Lots of nice textures with the fur, velvet, wood and skin.

My wife and I recently had a baby, Andres, so I haven't had much of a chance to sit in front of live models. But here is an image I've been working on. Head of a woman, based on the live figure studies at Dreamworks. Here is what it looks like before it is rendered.

a great dessert from Porto's Bakery -- one of the best Cuban bakeries in the LA area. One of the benefits of painting dessert is eating the subject matter when the painting is done. Hmmm. Still good.

last year I was able to visit the Canadian Rockies -- an incredible place to paint. This one is also from the Easton Gallery show, coming down this weekend. Happy Thanksgiving to all -- my friends in the art world, the animation biz and the newspaper world.
